DTF Pressing Instructions
Use the right settings for your fabric.
Cotton and polyester press slightly differently. Use the settings below for best results with Austin DTF transfers.
100% Cotton
- Temperature: Set your heat press to 260°F / 127°C.
- Time: Press for 10-12 seconds.
- Pressure: Apply firm, even pressure across the full design.
- Peel: Peel hot and instantly, then move straight to your next shirt.
Polyester
- Temperature: Set your heat press to 260°F / 127°C.
- Time: Press for 8-10 seconds.
- Pressure: Use medium pressure, not too soft and not too heavy.
- Peel: Peel while warm. Wait a few seconds so the design sticks properly.
- Continue: Move to your next shirt and keep the workflow going.

A quick calibration check helps make sure your press is applying the correct temperature and pressure before you start pressing transfers.
Calibration ensures that both the temperature and pressure are accurate for a flawless transfer.
Use a temperature gun to confirm that the heat press display matches the actual platen temperature.
If there is a discrepancy, note it and adjust your settings so you are pressing at the correct temperature.
